Cloud Excellence Awards winners showcase excellence and partnership

Winners showcase excellence and partnership in cloud computingQuestex Asia last Friday announced the winners of its second Cloud Excellence Awards, as an extension of the annual Cloud Tech Forum event.

Aiming to recognize the people and products that contributed to building Hong Kong as a world-class cloud computing market, the Cloud Excellence Awards recognizes the winners of the 10 awards in three categories.

Recognizing excellence in products and projects

To celebrate the outstanding cloud offerings and the excellence partnership between technology providers and users, the Awards comprise three categories: Cloud Projects, Cloud Products and a Grand Award.

The Cloud Projects category celebrates the partnership between cloud service providers and their users in Hong Kong. The awards aim to recognize the people that identify the right technologies to optimize operational process and achieve excellent business results.

Three types of projects are being recognized in this category, including cloud communications and collaboration project, cloud backup and disaster recovery project and cloud CRM project.

The winners of these awards are determined by a panel of judges, which consists of existing cloud users, industry advisors and IT management consultants. The judges for Cloud Excellence Awards 2017 were Michael Mudd, managing partner of Asia Policy Partners, Michael Yung, head of eProduct and Technology Planning, Asia Miles, and Avneesh Saxena, group vice president of IDC Asia Pacific.

The judges scored the cloud project entries based on four different criteria: 1) integration; 2) usability and change management; 3) partnership between user and vendor; as well as 4) business value.

In the Cloud Products category, six key cloud-related offerings in Hong Kong were awarded. They include data center facility for cloud, IaaS, PaaS, hybrid cloud services, cloud security and cloud BI and analytics. The winners were determined by Computerworld Hong Kong readers -- a total of 525 readers participated in the public voting.

Walk the talk

"The Cloud Excellence Awards are opened to companies in Hong Kong large and small. It is not just about the technology, but also about walking the talk, as delivering to customer satisfaction which is key.

Companies should stand up, enter the Cloud Excellence Awards, be recognized for their good work, and let people know about it," said Michael Mudd, managing partner of Asia Policy Partners, member of the Cloud Excellence Awards judging panel.

The winners’ profiles and coverage are featured in the current Computerworld Hong Kong Third Quarter 2017 issue.
