EMC promotes Danny Tam to president for Greater China

EMC Hong Kong head Danny Tam as president for Greater ChinaEMC has appointed 10-year company veteran and current EMC Hong Kong head Danny Tam as president for Greater China, effective immediately.

In his new role, Tam will be responsible for managing EMC's business operations in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and will report to the company's president for Asia-Pacific and Japan David Webster.

Tam most recently managed EMC's business in Hong Kong and Macau. Prior to this he was general manager for the two nations for EMC subsidiary VMware, and he has also held roles including director of cloud solutions, backup and recovery and virtual computing at EMC Greater China.

During his 30-year career in the IT, finance, telecoms and public sectors, Tam has also held senior roles at Sun Microsystems and IBM in Hong Kong and Canada.

“I am very proud to be part of an exceptional team of people who have accomplished a great deal during my time at EMC,” Tam said.
