Police: Customer data of Citic Telecom subsidiary hacked

Hong Kong-based ComNet Telecom -- a subsidiary of Citic Telecom International -- has leaked data belonging to about 2,500 customers, said the Hong Kong Police Force Wednesday night.

According to the Police, those customer data--including names, email addresses, login IDs, and encrypted passwords--were hacked and found in an overseas server not belonging to the telco. 

ComNet Telecom has already been informed of the incident by the Police who added that the company needs to report the incident to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data as soon as possible. 

The incident was tweeted by TeamBerserk on June 12 and reported by the Cyber War News on Sunday.
