SAP Greater China has turned in a record performance for 2016, with triple-digit revenue growth from cloud services during the year, according to the company.
The company said it added 104 new SAP S/4HANA customers in the region during the quarter, bringing its total to more than 480. New customers include Ameco, Yangquan Coal, Anhui Zhongding, DEC, High Fashion Group in Hong Kong and Changchun Plastic in Taiwan.
SAP said its cloud services business also accelerated. Hong Kong's Chow Sang Sang Jewelry selecting SuccessFactor's cloud-based human capital management solution, and Huatian Technology and Yuanfang Auto adopting SAP Cloud for Customers and cloud-based procurement application SAP Ariba.
In addition, the company’s global strategic partner Huawei adopted SAP HANA to improve its internal IT efficiency. Other key customer wins include agriculture products supplier COFCO Corporation, who uses the same software to optimize operational efficiency, and Yuchai Machinery Group, which has migrated to HANA to support its Industry 4.0 program.
SAP's board has named Greater China “Region of the Year” in 2016 on the strength of the company's performance during the year. SAP Greater China was established in 2013 as the company's newest standalone regional subsidiary.
“Our fantastic performance in all aspects in 2016 is the outcome of our relentless efforts in enabling China’s digital transformation, delivering customer-centric innovation, and building a highly empowered workforce,” SAP Greater China president Mark Gibbs said.
“Looking ahead to 2017, we firmly believe that accelerating transition to cloud will be our strategic inflection point, and the stepping stone to take us to greater heights in the future.”
